By Marcia Williams (Walker Books)
Colourful Storyboards of Seven Plays
Although first published back in 1998, this is still one of the best books for introducing children to Shakespeare whether young or old.
The plays are told in plain text, in a shortened form (although bits of Shakespeare’s dialogue are included in the storyboard drawings) so each play only covers six pages.
Also, watch out for the audience that are drawn around the border (and their comments!) on every page. It’s just like being at the theatre!
There is also a follow-up titled: ‘Bravo, Mr. William Shakespeare!’
